About Plant Whip
What is aquafaba?
The water left from cooking chickpeas. Whip it and it behaves like egg whites. Mix it in and it binds like yolks.
What's in it?
Two ingredients: water and chickpeas. Nothing else.
Does it taste like chickpeas?
No. It has a neutral flavor that disappears in the finished recipe.
Is it vegan?
Yes. It's 100% plant-based, with no eggs, dairy, nuts, soy or gluten.
Where is it made?
Made in Italy. Stocked and shipped from our US warehouse.
Using it
How much replaces one egg?
3 tablespoons replaces 1 whole egg. 2 tablespoons replaces 1 egg white.
How many eggs are in a carton?
About 20 whole eggs, or about 33 egg whites.
How do I whip it?
Pour it into a clean bowl and whip on high for 3 to 5 minutes until stiff, glossy peaks form. Add sugar the way you would with egg whites.
What can I make with it?
Meringue, pavlova, macarons, mousse, cookies, cakes, mayo and dressings, and foam for whiskey sours and gin fizzes.
Can I use it for cocktails?
Yes. 2 tablespoons in the shaker gives you the same foam as an egg white. About 30 drinks per carton.
Will it scramble like eggs?
No. Plant Whip whips and binds. It doesn't scramble.
Storage
Does it need refrigeration?
Not until you open it. Unopened, it's shelf-stable for 15 months.
How long does it last once opened?
Refrigerate after opening and use within 3 to 5 days.
Can I freeze it?
Yes. Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge and whip as usual.
Allergies
I have an egg allergy. Can I use Plant Whip?
Plant Whip contains no eggs. It's made from chickpeas and water only. Please read the full ingredient list and check with your doctor or allergist before using it for a specific allergy.

What if it arrives warm?
That's fine. Plant Whip is shelf-stable and ships at room temperature. Store it in a cool, dry place and refrigerate after opening.
